France’s gambling regulator has warned that high-risk players account for a substantial share of online gambling revenue, after a newly launched algorithm identified around 600,000 players with a high probability of excessive gambling during the second half of 2025.
The Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ) in France has highlighted that these identified players made up 8.7% of the total online account-based gambling population across licensed operators. The regulator emphasized the importance of early detection and intervention to prevent problem gambling behaviors among these high-risk individuals.
