Meta is being threatened with legal action by Dutch gambling trade body VNLOK over alleged failures to prevent illegal gambling ads from appearing on its platforms.
VNLOK, whose members include bet365, Unibet, and LeoVegas, is preparing a formal complaint to the European Commission (EC) regarding the proliferation of unauthorized gambling advertisements on Meta's platforms. The trade body accuses Meta of inadequately policing its advertising policies, leading to the promotion of illicit gambling services to users.
