Integrated Media Company (IMC), the owner of Fandom and Gamespot, is set to acquire Playstack, the publisher behind games like Balatro, Abiotic Factor, and The Rise of the Golden Idol. TruFin, Playstack's current owner, has conditionally agreed to sell its 84.5% stake to IMC pending a shareholder vote. The deal is expected to bring approximately £112.4 million in net cash proceeds for TruFin.

Harvey Elliott, founder and CEO of Playstack, expressed excitement about the new investment partnership, emphasizing that the core team, strategy, and commitment to indie games will remain unchanged. TruFin CEO James van den Bergh highlighted the disposal of Playstack as a significant milestone, praising the Playstack team's success and expressing confidence in IMC's ability to drive future value creation.

IMC, a vehicle for private equity firm TPG, focuses on acquiring promising companies and collaborating with existing management to enhance value. In addition to Fandom and Gamespot, IMC owns various entertainment, football, and ecommerce brands, positioning Playstack for further growth and success in the gaming industry.
