Obsidian Entertainment is facing a class action lawsuit over alleged wage and hour violations, including failure to pay minimum and overtime wages, provide meal periods, and rest breaks.
The lawsuit, filed in October 2025 by plaintiff Victoria Turner, a QA lead on The Outer Worlds 2, accuses Obsidian of profiting by violating state labor laws. It covers all nonexempt employees in California between October 9, 2021, and the date of class certification, seeking relief for unpaid wages, expenses, benefits, and penalties for alleged violations.
Obsidian has denied the allegations and requested the suit's dismissal. This legal action comes after the studio announced the cancellation of a third installment of The Outer Worlds due to underwhelming sales of the 2025 sequel.
