Mobile app intelligence firm to support Sensor Tower's new small and medium-sized business offerings
Sensor Tower has acquired mobile app intelligence firm AppMagic to enhance its platform. AppMagic, like Sensor Tower, offers insights into mobile game and app revenue, downloads, and regional market data. The acquisition aims to expand data access for mobile studios and independent developers, particularly focusing on small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). By integrating AppMagic, Sensor Tower plans to broaden its coverage across PC, console, and mobile data, including Live Ops Intelligence.
This acquisition comes after Sensor Tower's 2024 purchase of mobile marketing firm Data.ai, which led to layoffs affecting 200 employees. Sensor Tower's CEO Oliver Yeh expressed excitement about merging the teams, technologies, and products of AppMagic and Sensor Tower to provide a comprehensive SMB offering supporting the mobile app and gaming ecosystem. AppMagic's CEO Max Samorukov highlighted the enhanced capabilities and richer data that users will now have access to, offering a broader market perspective for customers seeking growth opportunities in the industry.
