Xbox CEO Asha Sharma announces major leadership changes as the company ends development of Gaming Copilot for consoles and mobile.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has revealed significant leadership adjustments as the company ceases the development of Gaming Copilot for consoles and initiates the phase-out of the feature on mobile platforms. In a social media post, Sharma emphasized the need for Xbox to accelerate its pace, enhance community engagement, and alleviate challenges faced by players and developers. To tackle these issues, Xbox has elevated key personnel and onboarded fresh talent to propel advancements.
As part of this strategic shift, Xbox will discontinue features that do not align with its future direction. The company will gradually retire Copilot on mobile devices and halt the development of Copilot for consoles. Earlier in March, Xbox had announced the availability of Gaming Copilot for current-gen consoles this year, following its beta launch on PC, mobile, and ROG Ally in 2025.
Sharma stressed the necessity for Xbox to transform its operational and organizational approaches to establish an affordable, personalized, and inclusive platform that remains closely connected to its audience. The company aims to streamline its processes and enhance its core capabilities to deliver impactful solutions promptly and engage more effectively with its community.
